OBITUARY IN TIMES-STANDARD
ANGELICA de LITZIN BEAL
Journey of a lady. Born in Taganrog, Russia, 1919, midst civil war, too young to remember. Escaped to Germany to America, with her mother, grandmother and aunt with the heritage of a noble family whose services to her birthplace are remembered to this day. Childhood in New York and Boston. Wellesley education. Wartime Red Cross service in Italy, where she found the love that carried her through to her very last day. Married, 1945, to William A. Beal, a perfect match. They lived a ranching life in Ferndale, Humboldt County. Blessed with three loving children, Jimmie-Fay, Winifred and Rebecca and her grandchildren, Alexsis and William Davie, Mickey Mangrum, Cody Baker and Shannon and Sadie Scales. A devoted friend to animals, but the main thing, she stood by her family through thick and thin. Anyone who knew her realized there was so much more than she wanted to reveal. Went to heaven on March 1, 2009.
