Miriam "Mim" Beal Hoffer, 84, of Ligonier, died Monday, March 3, 2008, in Excela Health Latrobe Hospital. She was born Feb. 12, 1924, in New Florence, a daughter of the late Roy and Pauline Haire Beal. She was a member of Pioneer Presbyterian Church, Ligonier. Mim had done housekeeping for Jane Flickinger for 30 years and for the former Flickinger & Welty, Attorneys at Law, offices. She was raised by the late William Cloyd and Mary Wallace, formerly of Waterford. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Elaine Hoffer; a son, William Charles Hoffer; and a brother, George Clyde Beal. Mim is survived by a son, Ronald Hoffer and his wife, Ingrid, of Chapeau, Quebec, Canada; two grandchildren, Amanda Romeis and her husband, Christopher, and Lance Hoffer; and two great-grandchildren, Alexandra and Jared Romeis. At Mim's request, there will be no visitation. Family and friends are invited to attend a funeral service at 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 12, in Pioneer Presbyterian Church with the Rev. David Kenyon officiating. Interment will follow in Pleasant Grove Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Mim's memory to Pioneer Presbyterian Church, 240 W.
