Wife of Willis C. Beadles

CANTON, IL - Anna Ilene Hummel (Nana) Beadles, 97 formerly of Canton, peacefully passed at 11:45 am on August 30, 2012.

Anna was born in rural Lewistown July 17, 1915, the youngest daughter of Robert J. and Venus (Wilcoxen) Hummel. She graduated from Lewistown High School in 1933. On August 25, 1934, she married Willis Christopher Beadles in Lewistown.

Preceding her in death were her parents, husband, her first child, David, her granddaughter, Marcie, step granddaughter, Lesa and infant twin great-grandchildren, four brothers and five sisters.

Surviving are her children, Joyce (Robert) Harland, Springfield, IL, Gary (Lynn) Beadles, Saltillo, MS, and Christopher (Penny) Beadles, Peoria, IL., many nieces and nephews and special friends. She was Nana to her surviving grandchildren, Jennifer Haberkorn, Tom Harland, Todd Beadles, Tracy Malone, Troy Beadles, Amy Carzoli, Brooke Beadles Thurau, Heather Vandermeir and step-grandchildren, Steven Polley, Sheena Hagemann, Staci Zupancic, and Brett Stone. All are teaching Nana's lessons to 22 surviving great-grandchildren.

Anna was mother to many through the years as she and Willis opened their home to those who needed love or a helping hand. Her philosophy was "Keep your hands busy!" and whenever family or friends needed a helping hand, Nana was there. Anna's favorite times were activities with her family, especially music and games. She enjoyed cooking for her loved ones, playing golf, and reading. She worked at several jobs in Canton including selling real estate and owning Ann's Hat Shop.

Anna was member of Wesley Untied Methodist Church in Canton. Most recently Anna was a resident of Mary Bryant Home for the Blind and Visually Impaired until she entered Morton Villas in July 2012, where caring staff and Hospice Compassus supported her on her final journey.

Burial will be at Providence Cemetery in rural Lewistown.
