Galena Gazette, 31 Dec 1986, p8 Donald B. Beadle, 58, of 1207 Hill St., Galena, died Sunday, Dec. 28, 1986, at the Galena-Strauss Hospital. Mr. Beadle was born on May 6, 1928, in Rice Township, rural Galena, and spent all his life in this area. He was a graduate of the Galena High School Class of 1946. He was employed by Harbin and Harbin Printing Co. in Galena most of his life and was owner-operator from 1961 until his retirement. Mr. Beadle was a member of the Galena Volunteer Fire Department for 33 years and was chief for three years. He was also Secretary-Treasurer of the Southern Wisconsin and Northern Illinois Firemens Association and was coordinator of the Galena area Emergency Medical District since its beginning. He was a member of the Galena Knights of Columbus and the Elks Lodge of Galena. He is survived by his wife, Joan Harbin Beadle, three sons: Steven of Dubuque, Iowa, Randy and Brian, both of Galena; three daughters, Mrs. Gary (Deborah) Bartell and Patricia and Brenda Beadle, all of Galena; one brother, Thomas (Pat) Beadle, of Galena; seven sisters, Mrs. Boise (Frances) Murphy, Mrs. Florence Bautsch, Mrs. Joseph (Vera) Wienan and Mrs. Joan Foecking, all of Galena, and Catherine Seeyle of Harvard, Illinois, Mrs. Lucille Rusboldt of Michigan City, Ind., and Mrs. LeRoy (Virginia) Armstrong of Fort Dodge, Iowa., and four grandchildren. Mr. Beadle was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. William B. and Wilhelmina (Minnie) Heller Beadle, and one brother, William B. Beadle in 1954, and one sister, Mrs. Donald (Helen) Petitgoue. Friends called at the Furlong Funeral Chapel in Galena from 2 to 9pm Monday, Dec 29. A wake was held at 8pm at the chapel and the funeral Mass was Tuesday, Dec 30 at St. Michael's for 10:30am Mass and burial will be made in St. Michael's cemetery. Casket bearers were Wayne Wienan, Bill Murphy, Jerry Petitgoue, Pat Beadle, David Foecking and Mark Armstrong. Honorary casket bearers were Ken Bautsch, Joe Seeyle and Gary Rusboldt. The Furlong Funeral Chapel was in charge of arrangements.
