Andrew J. Beach, 86, husband of Lucille Wasbroad Beach, of Lakeland, Florida, formerly of Portland, Connecticut, died in Lakeland Memorial Hospital, Lakeland, Florida.

He was a son of the late Lloyd and Margaret Barry Beach, and had been a Portland, Connecticut resident for many years before moving to Florida 9 years ago. Mr. Beach had been employed by the Standard-Knapp Co. in Portland for 34 years until his retirement in 1982. He was a veteran of World War II having served in the Pacific Theater of Operations for 2 years in the U. S. Army. He was a life member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Post 583 in Middletown, Connecticut. He also was a member of the American Association of Retired Persons, Brownstone Chapter, in Portland, and the Portland Senior Citizens. He was a parishioner of the Church of St. Mary.

Besides his wife, Lucille, he is survived by his daughter, Cheryl Suchanek of O'Fallon, Missouri, two grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sister, Katherine Donahue and his 3 brothers Russell Beach, Earl Beach and Jerry Beach.

Interment, with military honors, September 3, 2004.
