Amanda Baze, age 43, passed away after a long and courageous battle with Multiple Sclerosis on Wed. Aug 3, 2005, at her home in Yukon, OK., surrounded by her loving family.
She was born March 25, 1962, in Tulsa, OK., and had been a life long OKC area resident, living in Yukon since 1991.
Amanda was a member of Our Lords Community Church in OKC where she was very active in the children's ministry and was a very positive witness to everyone.
She enjoyed writing, being outdoors and being with her family both immediate and extended. In her early years she was happily involved with Rainbow Girls, Demolay and Flag Corp. at P.C. West and OU. After transferring to Central State University, she met her future soul mate, Scott Baze from Enid, Oklahoma (M.F.E.O.)
Amanda was a blessing, a gift from God, from the moment of her birth. She loved God, family, friends, her country, all her children and all animals.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Houston and Bernice Spears, Menter and Xuria Baker and her father-in-law, Don Baze.
Survivors include her husband Scott, son Luke, and daughter Abby, all of the home, parents Mitch and Fleeta Baker, of OKC, brother Drew Baker, his wife, Kristi, two little fountains of joy, Nicholas and Mitchell, her nephews. Surviving her in Enid is Scott's mother, Martha Baze. In Stillwater, Kurt and DeDee Bze & their daughters, Brandi and Kirsti. In OKC, sister-in-law, Luann & Rev. Jim Hill & their children, Benjamin, Rebecca & Josh and numerous loving family members and dear friends.
She is survived by "Norman" the family "pound puppy", her staunch and constant companion and protector.
Amanda's family wishes to praise and thank her husband, Scott, without whom she, and we could not have borne her illness. His devotion to her is unmatched. No woman could be more blessed than to have a husband like Scott loving and caring so diligently. God has truly blessed our lives with Scott Baze. Her children Luke and Abby have been stalwart in their love and devotion to their mother. They were her sunshine!
Amanda's family would like to thank Vista Care Hospice for their wonderful care these past few months.
A memorial service will be held at Our Lords Community Church on Tuesday August 9, 2005, at 2PM.
