FORT WORTH - Melvin "Jack" Baxter, a retired cement foreman for General Portland, died Saturday at a North Richland Hills hospital. He was 72.

Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Mount Olivet Funeral Home.

Entombment will be in Garden of Memories Mausoleum.

Mr. Baxter was born in Mountainburg, Ark. He was a member of the Senior Exercise Group at Birdville Baptist Church.

Survivors: Wife, Margie Baxter of Fort Worth; four sons, Carl Baxter of Haltom City, Jearld Baxter and John Baxter, both of North Richland Hills and Rick Baxter of Hurst; daughter, Jana Larson of North Richland Hills; father, Garrett Baxter of North Richland Hills; and 10 grandchildren.
