He was born in Canada but had resided in Williamson most of his life. He is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Ivan VanHouter of Williamson and four sons, George of Rochester, Earl of Syracuse, Floyd of Palmyra and Ray Bavis of Walworth; 21 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at the Young Funeral Home, Williamson, Sunday afternoon, October 1, with burial in the Furnaceville Cemetery, Ontario. (The Williamson Sun and The Williamson Sentinel., October 6, 1949)
