"A. Elvin Bauman, 83, formerly of Manheim, passed away at home on Monday, March 3, 2014 following a lengthy illness. Born in Lancaster County, he was the son of the late Ernest K. and Grace Snyder Bauman. He was the husband of the late Marion Heistand Bauman who died in 2001. Elvin retired from the family farm in Rapho Township where he worked with his son for several years. In his earlier years, he installed cabinets for Bomberger's Store, Lititz and Snitz Creek Cabinet Shop, Lebanon. He was a member of White Oak Mennonite Church, Manheim.
Surviving are seven children, Sharon, wife of Luke Sensenig of Reinholds, Sandra, wife of Fred Zimmerman of Clayton, DE, J. Stephen, husband of Elsie Wenger Bauman of Manheim, J. Stanley, husband of Rhoda Carpenter Bauman of Guatemala, John, husband of Charlotte Graham Bauman of Martinsburg, Thomas, husband of Leslie Penrod Bauman of Dongola, IL and Cindy Weideman of Toccoa, GA; 29 grandchildren, 38 great grandchildren, 7 step grandchildren and 24 step great grandchildren; a brother, Mark Bauman of Lititz; two sisters, Orpha, wife of David Herr of Andover, NY and Rachel Risser of Washington Boro. He was preceded in death by an infant son; two brothers, Luke and Elwood Bauman; and two step great grandchildren.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend his funeral service at White Oak Mennonite Church, 2456 Newport Road, Manheim on Saturday, March 8, 2014 at 10:00 AM. Interment in the adjoining church cemetery. There will be a public viewing at the church on Friday from 2:00 PM – 4:00 PM and 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM. Please omit flowers.
