Rites honoring the memory of Godfrey Baum, early-day businessman of Amarillo, Texas will be conducted at 2 o'clcok this afternoon in the Boxwell Brothers Ivy Chapel in Amarillo, Texas by a Christian Science reader.
Serving as pallbearers will be Arthur Ball, Harry Britt, Henry Funk, Perry Powell, S.T. "Bud" Curtis and W.S. Eakens.
Burial will be in Memorial Park, Potter Co., Texas.
Mr. Baum, 63 years old, died yesterday morning May 24, 1951 at his home, 1300-A West Eighteenth, following a heart attack. He was night clerk at the Pioneer Hotel.
A native of Gainesville, Texas he was born Oct. 26, 1887. He had lived here 40 years.
For several years, he engaged in the grocery business here. Later, he followed the same business in Borger, Texas.
A Mason and a Shriner, he was in the drum corps when the Shrine was established here.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Irene Baum, Amarillo, Texas; a daughter, Mrs. Frank Selfridge, Borger, Texas; and two grandchildren.
Also surviving are two brothers, Joe Baum, Memphis, Tenn., and I. Baum, Dallas, Texas; and four sisters, Mrs. Max Aronson, Amarillo, Texas, Mrs. Essie Rosenbush, Dempolis, Ala., Mrs. Sam Straus, Dallas, Texas; and Mrs. Eva Lapowski, El Paso, Texas.
