Mary arrived in the U.S. in 1903 and married Max Baum.
---------------------------
Although Mary's maiden name is spelled several ways, most commonly it was closest to how it is spelled on her mother's gravestone "Stentzler," which is also close to the spelling on the posted 1910 census record where Max, Mary, Hyman (their son who died that year at age two) & Rosie were living in Philadelphia with the family of Mary's sister, Annie Retter, and their mother, Kate Stentzler. Max & his family were still using the surname "Rosenbaum" in 1910, although they had changed to "Baum" by the time they were living in Galveston.
