Washington Township -- Mariam Helen Anderson, age 93, passed away Sunday, April 17, 2005 at LCC, The Willows in Valparaiso.
She was born December 6, 1911 in Washington Township, Porter County, the daughter of Allen W. and Dora E. (Warnes) Baum.
On October 22, 1930, she married Kermit M. Anderson in Rensselaer, IN who preceded her in death, November 24, 1990.
Her parents and a brother also preceded her in death.
Surviving are a niece, Dora Lee Belfield of Necedah, WI and a nephew, William Baum of CA; numerous other nieces and nephews in Iowa. Mariam lived all her life in Washington Township and was a homemaker. She belonged to Porter Cross Road Conservation Club, M&W Club, Center Township Farm Bureau, Porter County Organic Gardeners, Porter County Council for the Aging and Aged, Inc., the Humane Society of the United States and the Democratic National Committee. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, April 20, 2005 at 10:00 a.m. at Bartholomew Funeral Home, 102 Monroe Street, Valparaiso with Pastor Freda Scales officiating. Burial Graceland Cemetery in Valparaiso. Visitation will be Tuesday, April 19, 2005 from 5:00-8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Salvation Army, Porter County Humane Society or the Porter County VNA Hospice.
