Arnold Baulig was a World War I Veteran, a furniture store owner, and he was active in the Knights of Columbus and St. Peter's Catholic Church. Arnold and Kathleen always lived in Rome.

A 1945 Rome City Directory has Arnold and Kathleen living at 508 W. Thomas and operating Fort Stanwix Home Furnishings. By 1953 Arnold is listed as a watchman at Rome Cable Company and Kathleen was an attendant at the Rome State School. According to Peg Boulant, Arnold was also a supervisor for Rome Bedstead Company.

A. Baulig Dies,
Former Party Chief in Rome
Rome. Arnold J. Baulig, 57, of 508 W. Thomas died Nov 12, 1954 in Rome Hospital after an illness of five days.

A former chairman of the Democratic city committee, he was born June 30, 1897 in Rome, son of Anthony and Elizabeth Fortune Baulig. On Oct 10, 1923, at St. Peters Church he married Kathleen McGonigle.

A lifelong resident of Rome, Mr. Baulig had been employed by the Rome Cable Corp. and former was proprietor of the Ft. Stanwix Furniture Co. He was a veteran of World Ware I and was a communicant of St. Peter's Church and a member of the Holy Name Society.

Besides his wife, he leaves two daughters the Misses Betty Ann and Kathleen, both at home; a son Pvt. William Baulig serving with the Army at Ft. Dix, N.J.; three sisters, Mrs. Ella Mae Kerns, Rochester, Mrs. William Breads, Washington, D.C., and Mrs. Joseph Boulant, Rome; a brother Anthony Baulig, Syracuse and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

The funeral will be 9 Tuesday from the Griffin & Aldridge Funeral Home and at 9:30 from St. Peter's Church. Burial will be in St. Peter's Cemetery.
