Charles Washington Baughman enlisted 06 Mar 1861 at Lexington, SC. He was captured at Gettysburg on 23 Jul 1863. He was also captured at Petersburg on 03 Apr 1865. During the War for Southern Independence he served with the 1st SC Infantry, Co. C. He applied for Pension #9637. He died on 28 Apr 1921. His wife Mary Ann, born 6 Jun 1842 at Columbia, SC. applied for Widow's Pension #37396 on 06 May 1921. She stated that she had lived in Texas for 50 years and in the county for 12 years. She was married on 28 Mar 1861. In 1903, they lived at Quinlan, Hunt Co., TX. She died 24 Nov 1930. They are both buried at Myrtle Springs Cemetery.
