Mrs. Baughman had worked as a bookkeeper for Reeves Furniture and as a data entry operator for McKesson Merchandising Company, both in Harrison, Ark.
She was born July 31, 1937, in Richland, the daughter of Hilan E. and Pearl W. Pogue Reed. She was raised in Richland and was graduated from Berryton High School in 1955. She had lived in the Phillippines, Berryton, Ft. Walton Beach, Fla., Harrison, Ark., and Biloxi, Miss. She was a former member of Shawnee Heights United Methodist Church and had attended the Baptist Church in Harrison, Ark.
She married Robert E. Baughman on Oct. 16, 1954, in Holton. He survives of the home in Biloxi, Miss.
Survivors also include two sons, Robert L. Baughman, Berryton, and Randall H. Baughman, Harrison, Ark.; two daughters, Peggy Bien, Harrison, Ark., and Tammi Jo Ellis, Biloxi, Miss; two sisters, Charlene Shepard, Valley Falls, and Joan Ramsey, Berryton; eight grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter.
Mrs. Baughman will be buried in Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Berryton.
She will lie in state after noon Thursday at the Penwell-Gabel Highland Chapel, where the family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m.
The family suggests memorials to the Center for Basic Cancer Research, 1500 Hayes Dr., Suite B, Kansas State University, Manhattan, Kan. 66502-9909.
