George W. Bauer Jr., 89, of Shelbyville, IL., formerly of Lakewood, IL., died at 9:25 a.m. Monday, Oct. 13, 2008, in the Shelby Memorial Hospital in Shelbyville. He had been a resident for several years in Extended Care at Shelby Memorial Hospital.

Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 15, 2008, in Glenwood Cemetery, Shelbyville. Memorials can be made to Lakewood United Methodist Church. Arrangements are by Lockart-Green Funeral Home in Shelbyville. On line condolences may be sent to www.lockartgreenfunerahome.com.

Junior was born Oct. 1, 1919, at Lakewood, IL., the son of George B. and Donzella Oller Bauer.

Junior was a graduate of Lakewood High School. For many years he was custodian of Lakewood United Methodist Church, where he was a life-long member, and was an "assistant" in the Lakewood Post Office. He was an avid Chicago Cubs Fan. He will be remembered for his loving smile and generosity.

Junior is survived by many close and caring friends, and was preceded in death by his parents.
