Etta Viola Helms Baucom, 98, died Wednesday, Dec 28,2005 at her home. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 pm Saturday at Hartsell Funeral Home, Midland. The funeral service will be 2 pm Sunday at Clear Creek Baptist Church with the Rev. Donald Lisk officiating. The body will lie in state for 30 minutes prior to the service, Burial will be at Clear Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.
Mrs Baucom was born July 12, 1907 in Union County, the daughter of the late Thomas Helms and Dora Price Helms. She was a homemaker and a member of Clear Creek Baptist Church. Mrs Baucom was preceded in death by her husband, William Clarence Baucom.
Survivors include her sons, Howard H Baucom of Bethesda, MD., Melvin A Baucom of Marysville, Calif., Thomas A Baucom of Midland, Donald Ray Baucom of Monroe and James C Baucom of Midland; daughters, Dorothy B Maples, Myrtle B Mullis and Linda Baucom all of Monroe, Edith B Walker of Sacramento, Calif., Mattie B Arrington of Greensboro, Wanda B Rowell of Concord and Kay B McManus of Lexington; sister, lola Whitley of Monroe; 28 grandchildren; and 38 great-grandchildren.
