Edna Irene Baucom Barlowe was a daughter of Luther and Mamie Elliott Baucom. She was born April 12, 1922 in McDowell County, NC. She married Omer Febey Barlowe, son of Oren James and Mary Lizziebelle (Belle) Williams Barlowe, on August 2, 1943.
Edna was retired from Cross Cotton Mills.
Edna died September 29, 2000 in McDowell County, NC. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Omer F. Barlowe; two brothers, Arthur and Tate Baucom; and one sister, Annie Hollifield.
Surviving are two sons, Bob and Ray Barlowe; a sister, Lennie Hudgins; a brother, Everette Baucom; three grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
The funeral service was held by the Revs. Bill Long and Milton Hollifield at 2:00 PM Saturday, September 30, at Westmoreland Chapel, Marion, NC. The family received friends Saturday from 1:00 to 2:00 PM.
Interment was at McDowell Memorial Park, McDowell County, Marion, NC.
