Married to George Franklin Battles. Mother of two children: George Franklin, Jr. and Margaret Battles Metcalf.
Her father was Henry William Wise and her mother was Susan Elizabeth Neville of Bulloch County, GA. The fifth child of nine children: Sallie, Carrie, Julia, Katie, Lula, Della, Rufus, Margaret, and Henry H. Wise.
Henry Wise was a son of John Bridger Wise, a grandson of John Wise of Virginia, a great grandson of William Wise. William was the son of Col. John Wise, a fourth generation of John Wise's descended from John Wise who sailed from Bristol, England in July 1635. The 1st four generations of John Wise are buried on the eastern shore of Virginia.
Her mother Susan Elizabeth was descended from John Neville who came to America 1634.
Honorary Life Trustee and one time Sweetheart of Dames of the Court of Honor, Atlanta Chapter (179 State 43). DAR #200288, and member of Colonial Dames of the 17th Century, and Daughters of the Confederacy.
