Funeral services for Emma "Jean" Anderson, 82, Athens, are scheduled for 3:00 P.M. Sunday at Carroll-Lehr Funeral Home, Athens, with Rev. Mike Gibbs officiating. Burial will follow in Athens Cemetery.
Mrs. Anderson died February 18, 2011 at her residence.
She was born October 9, 1928 in Scurry, Kaufman County to the late Edgar Thornton and Daisy Alice Pope Battles.
Jean was a resident of Athens most of her life, and for many years was hostess at the Ice House Restaurant. Jean loved the outdoors, and watching birds. She was a wonderful seamstress, an avid reader, loved putting gig-saw puzzles together and was a wonderful cook.
Jean was preceded in death by her husband, Norman Anderson, brother, E.J. Battles, and sisters, Pauline McGlaun, Martha Jo Tiner and Ethel Battles.
Survivors include Son and daughter in law, Ronny and Julie Anderson, Murchison, daughters and sons in law, Patsy and John Teasdale, Teri and Thomas Henshaw, all of Athens, grandchildren Corey Alan Roberts and his wife Debbie, Christopher Aaron Roberts, Crystal Ann Meyer and husband Ely, Jason Phillip Anderson, Jeffrey Norman Anderson and wife, Marissa, Wesley Owen Teasdale and wife Larissa, Kimberly Michelle Teasdale, great grandchildren, Lindzey, Elizabeth, Christina Roberts, Maria Roberts, Emma Roberts, Anna and Jacob Meyer, Caleb, Luke and Eva Faye Anderson, Paxton Teasdale, MacKenzie, and Morgan Halbert.
Pallbearers will be Jeffrey Anderson, Wesley Teasdale, Corey Roberts, Chris Roberts, Bill McGlaun, and Vance Anderson.
Honorary pallbearers are Larry Tiner, Jimmy Tiner, and Dr. Douglas W. Curran.
