Dolly was born in Waco, Texas, to Alford Edward "Jack" and Kathryn (Richards) Battle. She was a waitress at the Kettle Restaurant for many years and was working at Trevino's Mexican Restaurant for the past several months. Dolly was very active in all aspects of veterans affairs, she was a member of the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary Post #121 riding club and a member of the Ridin' High Cowboy Church in China Spring.
She was preceded in death by her father, Jack Battle, in 2000.
Survivors include her husband, Billy Morris, of Waco; daughter, Anna Nicole Burton, of Halthom City; sons, Eddy Battle stationed in Iraq and Chris Wayne Lowe stationed in Africa; grandchildren, Michael and Daniel Burton; mother, Kathryn Battle, of Hewitt; sisters, Nancy Nolan and husband, D.R., of Hurst, Diane Stokes and husband, Larry, of Hewitt, Anna David and husband, Larry, of Waxahachie; Evelyn Rickett and husband, Bill, of Waco; brother, Jack R. Battle, of Hewitt; many nieces and nephews; a host of close friends including Robert Carter, Bill and Toni Mahan and all the Riders of the American Legion Riding Club; and her "special children," Benji, Susie and Lucille Morris.
