Viewing at Hall Davis & Son, 1160 Louisiana Ave., Port Allen, on Friday, Feb. 25, from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Visiting at New Mount Olive Baptist Church on Saturday, Feb. 26, from 9 a.m. until religious service at 11 a.m., conducted by the Rev. Michael Byrd. Interment in Old Folk Home Cemetery, Port Allen. Survived by his wife, Margaret Murray Batiste; daughters, Paula Batiste and Chiquita Porter; sons, Roderick Batiste, Charles Batiste Jr., Christopher Batiste and Kasey Porter; sister, Barbara Batiste Wilson; and 11 grandchildren. Preceded in death by a son, Patrick Batiste; mother, Cornelia Adolph Batiste; father, Murphy Batiste Sr.; brother, Paul Batiste; sister, Shirley Batiste Sanders; brother, Murphy Batiste Jr.; and mother-in-law, Rosa Lee Carter.
