She was born May 19, 1914 to a Merchant s family in Indian Territory Sasakwa, Okla. The state of Oklahoma was admitted to statehood only 7 years before her birth. Her grandfather George being a Baptist Minister Indian Agent influenced her deep religious faith. Living in hard depression times, the family moved to Oklahoma City, shortly there after her father died. Forbia's mother raised her and her brother, Hoil, this caused her to become very budget conscious. Forbia graduated from Central High School in Oklahoma City. A short time later she met the love of her life, O.C. Allison. They were married September 3rd, 1935. They started their family shortly after, with three rowdy boys, Gary, Daryl and Roger, whom were always forgiven for their many faults. Forbia and O.C. moved to Lubbock in 1949 to further his career. In the early seventies they moved back to Oklahoma City for business and to help take care of her mother, who subsequently passed at age 94. She moved back to Lubbock in 1994 to be with her children and grandchildren. O.C. and Forbia joined the Indiana Baptist Church having great fellowship, particularly after O.C. died in 2000. She looked forward to her weekly domino and luncheon meetings at the church, the Young at Heart Club. Forbia continued to survive beautifully in her home with minimal care until January 2011, age 96, after a fall she went to an assisted living facility for the last 14 months.
Forbia is survived by her three sons, Gary, Daryl and Roger; four grandchildren, Kim, Trent, Shannon and Clay Allison; four great-grandchildren, Tori, Braden and Kayla Allison and Channing Boyd.
She will be greatly missed and her loving memories will remain forever. The family suggests memorials to the American Heart Association.
