DARWIN E BATES--65: died Monday morning[8-27] in Trumbull Mem Hosp following an ext-ended illness. He was formerly from Farmdale-now Cortland. He was born 4 Feb 1914 in Jam-estown, a son of Carl & Effie Norton Bates, MrBates had resided here since 1956. In 1971, he retired from Packard Electric Div-Warren where he was a machine operator 33yrs.
Survivors include a son: Robert-Windham; a dau: Barbara (sp-Lee) Bancroft-with whom he made his home; 4 grandchildren; 3 bros: Ray-Newton Falls; Clarence & Carl-both Warren; 5 sis: Edna (sp-Steve) Hauser-Newton Falls; Shirley (sp-Robert) Duncan-Indianapolis IN; Betty (sp-Robert) Dunbar-Southington; Marion (sp-Chester) Warzala-Tucson AZ; Virginia (sp-Michael) Parana-Warren.
Service will be held Thursday afternoon [8-30] at Baumgardner Funeral Home-Kinsman. Burial will be in Kinsman Cem.
