Henry D. Bates(sic) of 119 South First Street, retired mail clerk of the Baltimore & Ohio Railroad, passed away at the Olean General Hospital this morning (December 1, 1941) at two o'clock.
Mr. Bates, a former Salamanca resident, was a member of Cattaraugus Lodge 239 Free and Accepted Masons, Salamanca Chapter 266, Royal Arch Masons and Salamanca Commandery 62, Knights Templar.
He is survived by three daughters, Miss Mable Bates, Lancaster, N.Y.; Miss Gail Bates, Webster, N.Y. and Miss Lucille Bates, New York.
Burial was in Pleasant Valley Cemetery.
