Mrs. Bates passed away on Friday morning in Madison General Hospital in Canton, following an extended illness. She was a lifelong resident of the Leesburg Community and was a member of the Leesburg Baptist Church.
She is survived by one son, Paul Bates, Route 2, Morton; one daughter, Mrs. Rubby Lee Waltman, Route 2, Morton; one brother Zeke Slade, Idaho; two sisters, Mrs. Tenie Slade, Idaho, and Mrs. Hattie Jeske, Oklahoma; 9 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, and 7 great great grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Sam Wilson, Wayne Perkins, Hilton Thompson, Robert Franklin, Bernard King and Otis Wilson.
