She was born in Jubilee Township May 20, 1900, a daughter of James and Margaret Bergen King. She married Everett Bateman in Peoria September 10, 1918.
Surviving are her husband and three sisters, Mrs. Clara Rice of Chillicothe, Mrs. Edith Hanson of Lacon and Mrs. Gladys Counterman of Los Angeles, Calif.
She was preceded in death by one sister.
Mrs. Bateman was a member of the Rebekah Lodge and the Royal Neighbors of America.
