SHALLOTTE - Rev. Edward C. Batchelor, 60, of P.O. Box 178, Mulberry St. Shallotte, N.C., died Saturday evening as a result of an auto accident.
Rev. Batchelor was born on June 3, 1921 in Columbus County and was the son of the late Guyton M. and Frances Isadora Hardee Batchelor. He was an ordained Methodist Minister of 25 years, serving in the Methodist Conference for the past 15 years.
Survivors include his wife; Mrs. Grace Dyson Batchelor of the home, three sons; Edward Carson Batchelor II, Steven Ray Batchelor and James Clarence Batchelor all of Boiling Spring Lakes, Five daughters; Mrs Hazel Lee Walker, Mrs Patricia Ann Reynolds both of Chadbourn, N.C., Mrs. Frances Louise Inman of Whiteville, N.C., Mrs. Linda Gray King of Southport, N.C., and Mrs. Rose Marie Simmons of Nakina, N.C., one sister; Mrs. Maude Parker of Bolton, N.C., 15 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday int he Village Point Methodist Church with the Rev. Bob Rudd, the Rev. Everett Price and Rev. Tracie Varnum offciating. Interment will follow in the Whiteville Memorial Park.
