ACCIDENT TO LOCAL HUNTER
A serious hunting accident was thanksgiving day when John Tracy, age 32, a well known citizen living in the Hindostan neighborhood north and town, and Shirley Bastin, an 18-year-old son of Mr. and Mrs. Grant Bastin, were both accidentally shot. Mr. Tracy was hurrying to where dogs were running when he fell, and the gun was discharged tearing away the muscles of the forearm.
The Bastin boy was only a few feet behind and received a part of the load in the left breast. He would have undoubtedly been killed, but a large billfold in his vest pocket stopped the force of the discharge and only a few of the shot entered his breast. Both men will recover but received wounds that are painful.
