"MRS. M. J. BANKS DIES"
"Mrs. Irene Bass Banks, wife of M. J. Banks, died at 11:14 a.m. today at her home, 317 East Howard avenue. She was a native of Biloxi and resided here all her life except for short periods in Savannah, Ga., St. Augustine, Fla., and New Orleans. She had been ill for several months, but had improved considerably until Sunday when she suffered a stroke of paralysis. She was married to Geo. R. Nixon, April 16, 1894, and he died in 1903(sic). She married Mr. Banks, Jan. 1, 1905. She was a member of the Catholic church and many years ago was active in school work. She is survived by her husband; two sons, Walter Nixon, former Harrison county supervisor, and John Banks, Tupelo. She was a descendant of one of Biloxi's oldest families. The funeral will be at 4 p.m. Friday from the Bradford Funeral Home with services at the Church of the Nativity."
NOTE - Irene's first husband, George Nixon died Feb. 26, 1900 in New Orleans.

"George L. Nixon, well known in Biloxi, died Monday evening in New Orleans. The deceased had been ill for some time and was taken several weeks ago to a hospital in New Orleans, where one night in a fit of delirum he walked out of a second story window and injured himself severly. He was then taken to the home of his parents, where he died. Mr. nixon was a nephew of Miss R. L. M. Nixon and athe husband of Irene Bass of this city."
