MRS.BASS DIES AT PRENTISS
Prentiss, June 7-
Mrs.Emily Frances Bass, wife of J. W. Bass ,died at the
family home at Prentiss after an illness of some time. Funeral services were conducted from the Prentiss Baptist Church of which she was a devoted member, by her Pastor the Rev. J. B. Herndon, assisted by the Rev. A. S. Oliver. Burial was made in the City Cemetery. Mrs.Bass was 76 years of age she joined the Old Hebron Baptist Church under the Pastorate of the Rev. A. B. Long. She lived for years in the Red House
community, north of Prentiss, the family moving here several years ago. She was married to J. W. Bass in 1876 and with her husband reared the following children all of whom with their father survive; Theodore Bass, Bassfield, I. E. Bass, Columbia R. V. and Webb Bass, Prentiss, Mrs. J. B. Bishop, Brookhaven. Hers was the first death in the family after 55 years of married life.
