Robert Paul Bass, 81, of Vista, California formerly of Decatur and Pana, died Friday (Dec 25, 1987) in his home.
Arrangements are incomplete at McCracken Funeral Home, Pana.
Mr. Bass was born in Shelby County, a son fo Fred and Harriet Bass. He married Violet Pauley.
He was a retired carpenter, a World War II veteran and a member of Carpenters Local of Fayette County.
Surviving are his wife; sons Paul P Bass Jr of Vista, Edward Fitzgerald Bass of chicago; daughters, Rebecca Lannon of Vista, Donna Edwards of Concord, Calif; Marcia McDaniel of Vista; Jean Doldo of Watertown, N.Y. brothers, Gilbert Bass of Austin, Texas, Charles Bass of Decatur; Sisteers, Fern Newcome of Ramsey, Illinois, Winifred Driscoll of Decatur; 23 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
One brother and two sisters preceded him in death.

Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. in McCracken Funeral Home in Pana. Visitation will be 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday. Burial will be in Oconee Cemetery.
