Edith Popkin Bass passed away almost one month after celebrating her 96th birthday.

Born on April 10, 1915 in Malden, MA, Edith died on May 6, 2011 in Jupiter, FL. Devoted wife of the late Edward Bass. Beloved mother of Dr. David Bass and Harriet Cutler and Eileen Bass Cummings and the late Donald Cummings. Adored sister, cousin, neighbor, friend, and Aunt Edie.

Edith taught us all through example the importance of generosity, kindness, wisdom, unselfish love and boundless loyalty.

And as she lived her values every day of her life, she was cherished every day of her life. As her life took her from Malden to Brookline to Newton to Delmar and to Juno Beach, she never forgot relatives and friends that she met along the way and we will never forget her.

Edith's family thanks all of the extraordinary and loving caregivers who made our lives so much better by caring for our beloved Edith. In memory of Edith Bass, please honor her with a contribution to any charity of your choice.

Graveside service at Sharon Memorial Park, Dedham Street, Sharon, MA on Tuesday, May 10 at 11:45 a.m. A prayer service will be held at the home of David Bass and Harriet Cutler on Wednesday, May 11 at 7:30 p.m. Stanetsky Memorial Chapels, 617-232-9300. www.StanetskyBrookline.com.
