He was the international representative for District 1 (Pennsylvania to Florida), United Electrical, Radio & Machine Workers, AFL-CIO. Samuel was the former vice president of the union at RCA, Camden, and a former president of the South Jersey CIO Industrial Union Council. He died at age 51 at his home, 447 East Mentor Street, Philadelphia. Surviving were his wife Katherine, nine sons (Martin, Richard, Samuel Jr., James, Donald, George, Charles, John, Dennis) and three daughters (Mrs. Dolores Houston, Janet and Florence).
