Donald Ray "Boz" Basler

Donald Ray "Boz" Basler, 65, of Coulterville, and formerly of Cobden, died at 10: 10 a.m. Wednesday, April 26, 2006, at his home in Coulterville.

He was born on Dec. 22, 1940, in Cobden, the son of Roy
and Frieda Lindsey Basler.

He was a 1958 graduate of Cobden High School. After
graduating he was employed as: a chauffeur for Clyde L. Choate: of Anna. He later went to work for the State of Illinois Police Department Crime Lab and later for the Treasury Department in Springfield. He retired after 30
years of service for the State of Illinois.

He is survived by a daugh­ter, Lisa Basler Merritt of
Springfield; a son, Chad Basler of Coulterville; two grandchil­dren, Christopher and Chelsea; a sister, Anita and husband Cliff Howell of Coulterville; a brother, Roy "Sonny" and wife Shirley Basler Jr. of Cobden; nieces Kimberly Howell and Pam Barr; nephews David and
Mike Howell and Todd Basler, other relatives and many
friends. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral services for Mr. Basler were at noon Saturday,
April 29, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Cobden with Fa­ther Federico Higuera and Fa­ther Jim VanOss officiating. In­terment was in the St. Joseph's Catholic Cemetery in Cobden. Memorials can be made to St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Cobden.

Lutz & Rendleman Funeral Home in Cobden was in charge
of arranpements.
