We know Sofia's grandmother Martha Basinger passed away in 1911 and Pink remarried (probably around 1912). So that leaves the question... what happened to his and Ada's child Sofia? Did she pass way or was she put in an orphanage or perhaps adopted out after her grandmother passed and her father's remarriage? Did his new bride not want little Sofia?
Last name was spelled Aycock. Two siblings changed the spelling to Aycox and Acox when they left Alabama for Oklahoma. For some unknown reason they didn't want to be associated with the Alabama kinfolk is what I was told growing up. Still trying to figure out why. If anyone knows, I'd love to hear from you.
