He was a native of Richmond Hill, Ga., and retired as a welder for the Newport News Shipyard after 32 years of service.
He is survived by his three children, Ruth E. Bashlor and Daniel C. Bashlor, both of Williamsburg and Alice M. Hodges of Charlottesville; five sisters, Elizabeth Cox, Elleree Kennedy, Annie Mae Dixon, Jean Helmey and Ruby Turner, all of Georgia; and four grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday evening, Jan. 28, at the Williamsburg Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held Saturday, Jan. 30, at the Richmond Hill Cemetery in Richmond Hill, Ga., at 11 a.m.
Williamsburg Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
