Beulah "Bea" Basham
POWAY / ESCONDIDO ― Bea joined the Lord and her loving husband Marvin in heaven on Monday, January 24, 2011, with her daughters by her side. Bea was born in Grayson County, Kentucky on December 16, 1921. She and her family lived in Poway for many years before she and Marvin moved to Escondido, then to San Diego. She retired as a Secretary from the Poway Unified School District in 1970 to become a full time homemaker. Bea loved cooking, gardening, sewing and all of nature. She enjoyed watching her San Diego Padres and Chargers. She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Mission Valley. Bea was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Marvin; parents, Stanley and Stella Witten; brothers, Festus, Raymond, Frank and Hershel Witten. ...A memorial service and interment is planned for 9 a.m., Monday, March 7th, at Fort Rosecrans National Cemetery in San Diego. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to: Wounded Warrior Project, 7020 AC Skinner Pkwy, Suite 100, Jacksonville, Fla. 32256, or website: woundedwarriorproject.org.
