Ruby Basford Alday age 79, passed away on Friday, February 6, 2015 in Jackson Hospital.
She was born in Bascom on March 5, 1935 to the late Benjamin and Ada Basford. Ruby is a lifelong resident of Cypress and of the Baptist faith. She loved fishing, gardening, and most of all taking care of her family.
Ruby was preceded in death by her parents; her loving husband Ryles Alday and her children Jerry, Royce, Freddy, David, Roger, Randy and Gerald. She is survived by one son Carlos Alday, seventeen grandchildren, twenty-six great-grandchildren and a host of other family members.
Services for Ruby will be at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 11, 2015 in the Marianna Chapel Funeral Home with reverend Alvin Roberts officiating. Interment will follow in the Cypress Cemetery in Grandridge. A time of remembrance will be held one hour prior to the service.
