Mrs. Harold Wilson Passed Away Friday

Edgar High Graduate Dies After Long Illness; Was Well Known Here

Wilma Venus Bascom, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Carlos Bascom, was born December 13, 1909, at Edgar, Nebraska and passed from this life February 3, 1933, attaining the age of 23 years, 1 month and 20 days. Her girlhood days were spent at Edgar where she completed her high school education. At the age of 12 she united with the Presbyterian Church of Edgar. At one time she attended the sessions of the church school of religion four years without missing and missed only a few Sundays in many years. In April, 1932, with her husband, and sister Vera, she united with the Congregational Church at Clay Center to which she was faithful until the time of her passing. She was an interested and active member of the Eastern Star from which she derived such enjoyment.

March 26, 1930, she united in marriage with Harold Wilson of Clay Center, Nebraska. This happy couple made their home among Clay Center people since their marriage and endeared themselves to all their acquaintances. They enjoyed a large circle of warm friends.

Wilma Wilson lived a beautiful life. In point of time her years were cut short, but in these years she has left a deposit of love in the hearts of many people. Her pleasing disposition was not clouded in her long illness. In health and in sickness she born herself in such a way as to gain the love and sympathy of all who were privileged to know her, especially those who cared for her during the last weeks of her life. Her beautiful and courageous spirit make her name and memory sweet. The grace of her manner, the instinctive kindliness of her heart, the strength and the quality of her faith, explain in some measure her beautiful character an successful life. Her brief life answered to the principles of love and joy and sympathy and all kindred virtues in which she rose to the dignity of a noble womanhood. She was indeed a true gentlewoman.

For weeks Wilma Wilson has been in the minds and prayers and at the center of this communities affection. today she is enshrined in our thoughts and memories. With silent resignation she accepted the Divine decree and faced death unfalteringly. Gently and silently the love of her dear ones and friends goes with her into the great silences.

It is with sincere devotion that we offer to all the relatives our heartfelt sympathy and commend them to the care and keeping of our Heavenly Father, whose love is unfailingly tender and of which there is no end.

Those upon whom her passing falls closest are, her husband, Harold Wilson, Little Connie Lee, daughter of four months, her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Carlos Bascom, a sister, Vera and grandmother, Mrs. Laura E Bascom.

The last sad rites were held from the home in Clay Center Monday afternoon in charge of the pastor of church and family, Walter S. Henry. Interment in the Edgar Cemetery.
