The brave die young."
The Tri-Weekly Telegraph (Houston, Harris Co., TX), Mon., 15 Dec 1862, p. 1, c. 5 .
Died at his residence at Turtle Bay, Chambers county, on the 4th inst., after a painful sickness, which he bore with fortitude and resignation, Francis L. Barziza, Esq., counselor at law. Mr. Barziza, was a native of Virginia, but a resident of the State of Texas for 17 years past.
As a professional gentleman, he was diligent, persevering, faithful, indefatigable and successful. In his deportment in society, was courteous, unassuming, staunch and true to his friends, forbearing and generous to his enemies. He leaves a large circle of friends and acquaintances in the interior of the State to lament the loss of one endeared to them by his virtues and abilities.
An aged father and mother, a sister and brother are left disconsolate, and to mourn the untimely loss of a kind, affectionate and devoted son and brother.
But the Lord gave and the Lord hath taken away, blessed by the name of the Lord.

May songs of the angels welcome you and guide you along your way. May the smiles of the martyrs greet your own as darkness turns into day. Every fear will be undone and death will be no more, as songs of the angels bring you home before the face of God.|
