Funeral services for Darwin Lee 'Pat' Bartow, of Brookhaven, are 3 p.m. on Sunday, April 10, at Riverwood Family Funeral Service Chapel, with burial in Riverwood Memorial Park.

Visitation is Sunday from 1:30 p.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home.

Mr. Bartow, 85, died April 6, 2011, at his residence. He was born in Illinois on May 20, 1925, to Charles Louis Bartow and Leona Barding Bartow.

He was a loving husband to Virginia for 66 years and a loving father and grandfather. He lettered in four sports in high school, including football, basketball, baseball and track. He enlisted in the United States Air Force right after graduating from high school. He served during World War II as a flight engineer on a B17 that was shot down over Hungary and was a prisoner of war in Germany until the end of the war in Europe.

Mr. Bartow retired from Keystone-Seneca in the early 1990s. A great joy in his later years was attending annual reunions of his flight crew and the 463rd Bomb Group. He was a member of First United Methodist Church in Brookhaven.

Preceding him in death were his parents.
Survivors are his wife, Virginia Ward Bartow; his daughters, Darlene Bartow Powell and husband, Clayton, Pamela Bartow Moye and husband, Andrew, and Beverly Bartow and husband, Jim Stengel; his brother, Patrick Bartow and wife, Patricia; his sisters, Helen Gordan, Mabel Pinkston and Doris DeClerk and husband, Bob; his grandchildren, Christopher Powell and wife, Anna, Sean Powell and wife, Brandi, Ryan Powell and wife, Anna, and Sarah Stengel; his great-grandchildren, Jordan Powell Buie and husband, John, Kyle Powell, Riley Powell, Payton Powell, Jalen Powell, Stone Spann and Jackson Green; and his great-great-grandchild, Rose Buie.
