Frostburg,Maryland --- Phyllis C. Barton, 49, of Merriman Street, Frostburg, died Saturday, Sept. 27, 1997, in Sacred Heart Hospital.
She was born in Frostburg on May 19, 1948, the daughter of Christine (Brodie) Thrasher of Midland and the late Raymond Thrasher.
Mrs. Barton was a member of the Carlos United Methodist Church and was co-owner of Barton's Auto Sales and Towing.
She is survived by her husband, James W. Barton; a daughter, Cami C. Martin and husband Aaron Martin of Frostburg; a brother Raymond Thrasher of Midland; sisters-in-law Sheila Richards and husband Dave, Frostburg, Carolyn Ternent and husband John, Bel Air; a grandson, Hunter James Martin; special friends Kathy Young, Stacey Whetzel, both of Lonaconing, and Barbara Nicol, Frostburg; a special cousin, Andree Morgan, Lonaconing; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received in the Hafer Frost Mansion Funeral Home, 58 Frost Ave., Frostburg, on Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Funeral services will be conducted in the funeral home chapel on Tuesday at 1 p.m. with the Rev. George Harpold officiating.
At Mrs. Barton's request, her body will be cremated. Inurnment will be held in Frostburg Memorial Park.
