Gladys (Reed) Bartlett of Midwest City, OK, passed away at home on Sun March 17, 2002.
She was born May 10, 1912, in Burlington and raised in Florence. She married Woodrow Bartlett in 1946, and, as an Army wife traveled extensively, moving to Ogden, Utah in 1965 at retirement. Since 1993, she has been living with her daughter and son-in-law, Patricia and Dale Smith of Midwest, OK. She had been a member of the Defense Depot Officer's Wives Club in Ogden, UT, serving as president 1975-1976 and a member of St. Philip Neri Catholic Church in Midwest City. Gladys loved the shore, playing golf, cards and silk needlework. Her family and friends will remember her fun-loving spirit, loving heart and sweet disposition.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Lt. COl. Woodrow Bartlett in 1971, her sisters, Margaret Mitchell of Burlington, Dorothy Wilson of Roeboing and brother Edward C. Reed of Florence. She is survived by her daughter, Patricia Smith; in-laws: Keith and Melba Adams of Blackfoot, ID, and nieces and nephews, including Leatrice Wilkie of Florence, and Edward Wilson of FL. Her grandnephews include Kenneth, Gary, Keith, David and Craig Wilkie.
Funeral services will be held on Fri at 11am at the Dennison Funeral Home, 214 W.Front St Florence. Officiating will be Rev. Francis Hanudel, pastor of Holy Assumption Church of Roebling. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery, Florence. Friends may call of Fri only from 10-11am at the funeral home.
