MRS. BETH BACON
WELLSBORO, Pa. — The funeral of Mrs. Helen Bartlle Bacon, 90, until recently a resident of Wellsboror, who died Sunday at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Henry L Wilson of Big Run, Jefferson County, after several months' illness, will be held at the Evans and Johnson Funeral Home here at 1 o'clock Wednesday afternoon, with Interment in the Wellsboro Cemetery.........
Mrs. Bacon was born in Delmar Township Nov. 24, 1848. She lived there until about 10 years after the marriage to Seth Bacon, of Delmar Township, on Nov. 24, 1869..............
Mr. and Mrs. Bacon removed to Wellsboro in the early eighties. Mr. Bacon died here several years ago.
To the couple were born two children, a daughter, Blanche, the wife of the Hon. Henry I. Wilson of Big Run, PA, noted member of the Pennsylvania House of Representative from Jefferson County; and a son, Leon Bacon, who died here 31 years ago.
Mrs. Bacon's father, the late Andrew Bartle, was one of the pioneers of this vicintiy. He came here from Chenango County, N.Y. when Tioga County was still largely unsettled, cut the trees on his farm, and built his home of logs and hewn timber. He later became a man of means and influence in and about Stonyfork, where he spent the remainder of his life. Her mother was Maria (Ten Broeck) Bartle.
Survivors of Mrs. Bacon are her daughter, Mrs. Wilson; two grandsons; two great grandchildren; a daughter-in-law, and numerous nieces and nephews.
