Andrew J. Bartholomew, aged 58, died at his residence in Elkhart Sunday morning at 2:15 after a brief illness of pneumonia and complications. He was born in Iowa, but at the age of five years came to Goshen with his parents, where he grew to manhood. His father, the late Christian Bartholomew was a resident of Goshen for nearly 30 years and is still remembered by many of the older citizens.

Surviving are his wife, one son, Gordon Bartholomew; three daughters, Mrs. George Goss, Mrs. Zera Richardson and Miss Florence Bartholomew, and four grandchildren, all of Elkhart. There are also three brothers, Stephen A. of Osolo township; John W. of Elkhart, and Clarence E. of Sturgis, Mich.; and two sisters, Mrs. George W. Payne of Elkhart and Mrs. Ora Roob of Three Rivers, Mich.

The funeral will be held Tuesday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock at the residence on Washington street, Rev. J.D. Brosy, pastor of the Grace Lutheran church of Elkhart conducting the service. Interment in Grace Lawn cemetery.
