Funeral service will be 1 p.m., Saturday, July 14, 2007 at Landkamer Johnson-Boman Funeral Home in Mankato with Minister Joe Lee, officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will be in Lyra Cemetery in Good Thunder, MN.
Evangeline was born on December 15, 1927 to Theodore and Louise (Hugg) Landmark in Montevideo, MN. She attended Montevideo High School, graduating in 1945. She taught school in a one room school house for two years. In the 1940's she traveled throughout the United States and Canada playing piano for revival meetings. On February 14, 1953, she married Robert Dale Bartell in Austin MN. Evangeline cared for her terminally ill husband until his death at age 35. She was first and foremost a mom who loved her family. Evangeline was also a rural mail carrier, and a caregiver for her grandson who has developmental disabilities. She was an avid gardener until the last day of her life.
Evangeline is survived by three children and son-in-law, nine grandchildren, eight great grandchildren (+ one on the way), two brothers and sisters-in-law, one sister and brother-in-law, daughter-in-law, sister-in-law, brother-in-law [survivors names omitted].
