BURKE, Luetta Marlene age 81 of Centerville, left us to be with her Lord on Wednesday, November 28, 2012. She was born on June 2, 1931 in Janesville, WI to Robert and Mildred Bartel. Marlene graduated from Janesville High School and then married Harry B. Burke in 1950. Marlene retired after a satisfying career with the Ypsilanti Public Schools in Michigan in 1998. She was an active member of St. Mark Lutheran Church and volunteered with the Beyer Hospital Auxiliary both in Michigan. Marlene was a devoted wife and mother who was a voracious reader. She loved gardening, flower arranging, singing her favorite songs in the church choir and being with her family. Preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 48 years, Harry Burke in 1998, and her brother, Robert Bartel.

Marlene is survived by her son, Bryan (Kim) Burke of Normal, IL; granddaughter, Heather Burke; sisters, Roberta Manz and Martha Carlson; niece Kim (Roger and son Alex) Schmeling, and adopted son Darrell and his family, wife Tamela and son Jacob Monday of Garden City, MI.
