BARRON, Ann D. "Nan," 91, of Richmond, passed away November 6, 2013. She was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, James B. Barron Sr. She is survived by her sons, Jim Barron and his wife, Faye, and Alex Barron and his wife, Lee; and granddaughters, Carolyn and Katie Barron. Ann was born in Scotland and moved to America in 1929 when she was only six years old. Ann began her career working in New York for the Readers Digest and she eventually retired from Media General in Richmond, Va. after many years of service. Ann was a longtime member of Emmanuel Episcopal Church, but most of all Ann will be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, mother-in-law and friend. The family will receive friends at Bliley's - Central, 3801 Augusta Ave., on Saturday, November 9, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., with a graveside service to follow at 2 p.m. in Emmanuel Episcopal Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Richmond S.P.C.A.
