E. George Barron, 75, of 100 Atwells Ave., a professional musician, died Tuesday at the Veterans Administration Medical Center. He was the husband of the late Jane K. (Pelkey) Barron.
Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Alexander M. Barron, Sr., and Elizabeth E. (Kronberg) Barron.
Mr. Barron played the drums for bands and taught the instrument. He worked for the former George Geer Drum Shop for 20 years before retiring. He was a member of the Church of the Master, Baptist. He was a member of the Musicians Union. He was an Army veteran of World War II, and a member of the DAV.
He leaves four brothers, Frederick E. Barron of Cranston, Ralph D. Barron of Warwick, Alexander M. Barron of Glocester, and Earl E. Barron of Lincoln.
The funeral services will be held tomorrow at 11 a.m. at the Juhlin-Pearson Chapel, 754 Broad St. Burial will be in the Rhode Island Veteran Cemetery, Exeter.
